I‘ve mentioned before it‘s necessary to rent a car if you want to see the best coves of Majorca (i.e. Mallorca)…but it‘s even better if you can rent a boat! When Activity Fan contacted me about doing a yacht excursion post I jumped at the opportunity to go. If you watched my Instagram stories during our visit you probably had a laugh at all the hiking we had to do to reach some of the coves (it‘s quite difficult when you‘ve got a drunk watermelon in tow)—so visiting Cala Morlanda and Cala Petita via yacht was a special experience. 😉
We met Walter, our skipper from Mallorca en Barco, at the marina in Porto Cristo and headed to a nearby cove. On the way he stopped to show us some cool caves tucked along the coastline and shared interesting stories about the area. Walter‘s yacht is beautiful and it was more than enough for our group of 5 (it can accommodate up to 11 people). There‘s also a large sundeck for tanning/lounging and plenty of seating options towards the stern too.
Once we reached the first cove Walter dropped anchor and pulled out snorkel equipment for us to use. We loved swimming around the coves, chasing fish and exploring the underwater caves nearby.
I‘d like to add that I was particularly pleased with the food and drink situation on-board. 😉 Walter was not only our skipper and guide, but also our chef! During the excursion he served delicious appetizers like “melon shots” with Jamon Serrano and goat cheese bites with honey and nuts. If you reserve an evening excursion he can also prepare romantic dinners on the water for two!
The next time you visit Majorca I would highly recommend reserving a yacht excursion with Walter for yourself. Renting a boat (or yacht!) is the best way to experience Majorca‘s beautiful coves and I‘m so happy we had the opportunity to enjoy this experience with family and friends.
